Digital Promotion of SeaFest Maritime Festival

SeaFest is Ireland’s national maritime festival. Organised by the Marine Institute and involving major stakeholders from across the maritime industry, the event seeks to engage the public in all aspects of Ireland’s diverse marine and maritime world.

SeaFest promotional campaign objectives


The main objectives were to create awareness, give external validation and open up SeaFest to a wide and established coastal audience.


We achieved this through:

SeaFest Campaign Delivery



1. Adverts on CoastMonkey.ie


With an audience of around 10,000 visitors each week, Coast Monkey.ie is the perfect platform to promote an event like SeaFest.

We placed two SeaFest advertisements in the most prominent positions on the site. One in the header banner and a second in the first sidebar space. These ads are visible on every article and were seen by thousands of daily users.

2. Festival advertorials

We created three unique advertorials that showcased the best of the festival. We shared the advertorials to our wide social media network and boosted them with paid promotions on facebook to increase the reach.

3. Email marketing campaign


We designed a unique and attractive newsletter campaign focusing on the festival. We sent it to our established newsletter subscribers delivering the festival message directly to their inbox.

Campaign Outcomes




Adverts were visible on every article (850+) and the site had a total of 32,606 views over the three week duration of the campaign. The adverts received 76,461 impressions over the course of the campaign.

Advertorials gained a total of 5,071 views on the site and were shared across all Coast Monkey social media channels. They were boosted (paid promotion) on Facebook, reaching nearly 5000 people and over 200 engagements.

SeaFest email campaign was sent on Monday to 3,423 people who currently subscribe to Coast Monkey’s monthly newsletter. This resulted in 42.3% Opens and 21.3% click throughs to the advertorials and the SeaFest website.
